Would a 23 year old woman be satisfied with a .81ct diamond on an engagement ring?
I am in grad school and have been saving for a while. I found a .81ct diamond with Ideal cut, VS2 Clarity, and I color that fits my budget. It’s a round cut center stone with the following setting:

she should appreciate whatever you can afford. there is no sense in getting something totally outrageous if u will be in debt for years. you can always “upgrade” later. I think it is a really pretty ring, and if she is not happy, you need to take a look at the relationship…unless you make tons of money and can afford the best.
